Two of the most popular airless spray equipment brands are Binks and Graco. With over 100 years of spray finishing industry experience, Binks produces some of the most innovative and high quality spray finishing equipment. Graco, which is another leader in the industry was founded in 1926. Graco also manufactures some of the high quality spray finishing and fluid handling equipment.

The airless pump, which is a main component of airless spray equipment can be one of two types. The first one is a piston pump. In this, the piston moves in a chamber and creates a vacuum, thus sucking up the paint into a position which is then driven through the high-pressure hose. The other variant, which is a diaphragm pump has a diaphragm that moves up and down very rapidly. This movement creates the pressure which sucks the paint into the hose. The movement of the diaphragm is generated by a piston and hydraulic fluid.

The selection of the spray gun is another important decision to make. Spray guns come in multiple specifications to suit the job. If you are going to use it for long hours, you will need to pick one with the most comfortable grip. Some airless spray guns can be activated by 2 fingers while others can be activated by 4 fingers. Also if the chemical or paint is thicker, a different tip is required.

During the selection of airless spray equipment all other related factors, such as the nature of the paint, length and size of hose, horsepower of the equipment and overall pressure should be considered as well.
